Intermountain Clinical Research (ICR) conducts clinical trials on new medications, over the counter (OTC) medications, and prescription medications that are already on the market.

The purpose of clinical drug trials is to:
  • Test the effectiveness of new medications
  • Compare new treatments to commonly used treatments
  • Collect safety data
  • Collect information on the long term use and side effects of new, commonly used and OTC medications.

Why take part in a research study?
Each year thousands participate in clinical research studies. Some do this in order to help researchers find new treatments for diseases from which they or a loved one suffer. Some do it to learn more about their conditions and because of the special care, medical exams and medicines they may receive as participants.

  3. There is no charge for study-related medications, exams and treatments.
  4. All qualified participants are compensated for their time and travel.
